AABB Accreditation staff will explore several topics to assist assessors in providing a consistent accreditation experience for our member facilities. A uniform approach to assessments at member facilities enhances satisfaction for both facilities and assessors. Enhanced satisfaction with AABB Assessments ensures that both assessors, as individual members; and accredited facilities, retain long-term relationships with AABB.
What’s NEW! AABB Accreditation Staff will provide an update to Assessor Program policies and procedures to ensure volunteers have the most current information for the following topics: travel and safety policies, reimbursement guidelines, evaluation updates, orientation/review of Accreditation process steps and the benefits of the Assessor Newsletter.
Intro to the Post Assessment Questionnaire (PAQ): AABB Accreditation Staff will introduce the criteria outlined in the post-assessment questionnaire (PAQ); used by accredited facilities to evaluate assessor performance. The PAQ is used to develop feedback which is provided to the assessor. The accreditation staff will then provide real-life objective evidence on assessor feedback from facilities provided by the AABB PAQ. This objective evidence will then be dissected, providing the participants with common themes.
Test your knowledge: Finally, small group exercises will determine inter-rater reliability and describe variability around citing nonconformances to AABB standards. Objective evidence from nonconformances will be provided for small group discussions that will be facilitated by Accreditation Staff. The small groups will be given the opportunity to select the AABB Standard which best fits the provided objective evidence and discuss why the selected standard was chosen. AABB staff will then reveal to the groups the AABB standard that was ultimately used to document the non-conformance.
