Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States
Daisy Annette, a clinical laboratory scientist with a robust background in Blood Bank and Cell Therapy, is poised to contribute her expertise to the AABB education proposal. A California native raised in Texas, Daisy completed her B.S. in Clinical Laboratory Science at the University of Texas El Paso in 2006 and subsequently achieved ASCP certification, actively engaging in ongoing education.
Daisy's laboratory career commenced as a generalist at St. John’s Medical Center, where she honed diverse skills across laboratory departments, notably identifying a keen interest in Blood Bank. In 2011, she relocated to Oklahoma City, focusing on Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine and embracing teaching roles for MT/MLT programs and medical students, which inspired her to specialize, achieving her SBB certification in 2018.
Daisy's foray into Cell Therapy began in 2016 with Our Blood Institute, where despite initial challenges in training, she leveraged resources from the AABB Mentoring Program to deepen her proficiency, completing notable certifications and ascending to the role of Quality Director at OBI. Her commitment to the field is further evidenced by her current pursuit of a Master’s in Healthcare Administration and preparation for the CABP exam.
With Oklahoma’s imminent need for new talent in Cell Therapy due to a retiring workforce, Daisy aspires to expand the CT Program, introducing a dedicated training platform to cultivate future specialists. Her vision includes integrating CABP preparation, ensuring a robust pipeline of qualified professionals.
