Dr. Jacob received his MD from Wake Forest University School of Medicine and completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Emory University School of Medicine, where he served as a Chief Resident. He then went on to complete a Transfusion Medicine/Blood Banking Fellowship at Stanford University School of Medicine. In 2019, he joined the faculty at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in the Department of Laboratory Medicine, and had leadership roles in the Cell Therapy Lab, Apheresis Service and Transfusion Medicine. He currently works at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine. He is a board-certified pathologist (Anatomic and Clinical) with subspecialty board-certification in blood-banking and transfusion medicine. As Medical Director of the Apheresis Service, Dr. Jacob supervises and oversees therapeutic apheresis as well as cellular collections. As Associate Director of Transfusion Medicine/Blood Bank, he advises on best practices for transfusing patients, and works with other physicians to recommend appropriate products for specific transfusion needs and provides medical oversight for the Blood Bank.
